When Is Moling the Right Solution?

Moling is a trenchless method of installing underground pipework. A pneumatic mole is driven through the soil beneath the surface, creating a channel for the new pipe without the need for open trenches.

This approach is ideal for properties where traditional excavation would cause significant disruption — for example, beneath established driveways, garden paths or landscaped areas. It is commonly used for water supply pipe replacement and new installations.

Moling is faster, less disruptive and often more cost-effective than open-cut methods. It is particularly well-suited to residential properties where protecting the existing surface finish is important.
